Android. Specifically Kotlin. He's been writing it since before Coroutines were cool and he'll still be writing it when whatever replaces them is cool. iOS and cross-platform are solid too — but if you want someone truly at home on Android, that's your answer.
Honestly, not his strongest area. He knows Firebase deeply and has run CI/CD pipelines on GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and Bitrise — but AWS infra as a primary responsibility isn't where he shines. If it's a nice-to-have, he'll ramp. If it's the main job, look elsewhere. He'd tell you the same.

Hard technical problems with a real user on the other end. NFC pipelines, camera systems, apps that need to work on low-end hardware in bad network conditions. He's less excited by CRUD apps with nice animations. More excited by things that are actually difficult.
